We celebrated a little. Had a party for Hub’s birthday and SB’s Gotcha Day. Fire pit, cold beer, pulled pork, lights in the trees, and the people we love most. Stinky had a new friend, the QB from his team, and another football team member over. They built an entire airsoft gun obstacle course, and a pumpkin shooting archery range. The kids all ran crazy, as there were probably double the amount of kids vs. adults, and the adults relaxed and chatted and commented on the beautiful day. There was cake (from the grocery, because I decided to make things easy on myself for once), and laughter, and catching of the rooster so we could clip his wings. A new couple that hasn’t been here before showed up. I always wonder what new people think- with our donkeys and animals and lassiez-faire parenting style. I’m sure it’s an overwhelming amount of chaos and sugar and dirt and poo and loud voices. I hope they had a great time. At the minimum, they and a lot to talk about on their way home.
Anyway, SB declared it a “berry berry good day” as he was going to sleep, and I concur. I fell asleep content and happy, full of the day and the love I have for my sweet family and friends. This photo, taken by Dozer, sums the day up perfectly. (Note the cake on his face.)
