This is what a room looks like when it’s waiting for the two boys who will occupy it. We got a call asking if we could take short-term placement of two boys from Eritrea. They are brothers from an Ethiopian refugee camp, ages 15 and 17. We aren’t fully licensed but we can do respite while they’re finishing our license. They’re going to be here this evening or first thing in the morning. I’m terrified and excited, even though this is what we’ve been training for all these months. Here goes nothing.
