It seems like it took so much longer to get licensed this time, but it looks like it will be about 10 weeks, and part of the delay was our fault since Hubs missed a class and had to wait a month to retake it.

Regardless, today is our final walk through and the day we sign contracts with our agency. Then, they submit our paperwork to the head office for review, and a few days later, we get verified. I’m hoping by the end of next week, and the 8th keeps coming up for me, so probably by then.

And then we wait. We have several friends who are foster parents, and one couple (SB’s former sitter and her partner) are on the vacancy list. Plus, I’m part of an extensive foster parent network. I imagine we will be plenty busy.

Plus, we are open for one boy, ages 4-14, depending on the placement. I think I’ve said it before, but I will say it again. We are going to be very, very, VERY picky this time and ask a lot of questions. Our goal is to provide a haven for a child who also fits into our family structure in a way that compliments us all. Birth parents on a one way trip to Crazy Town are a no go for us, as are many other things. So, it might be a while before our spot is filled, and that’s okay by me.

I’ve learned that I can sit patiently and wait for the right things to come to me, that I no longer have to force, but that I can allow blessings to flow. So, once we get verified, that is what we will do.
